While these pictures don't include all of the elements of the Messianic Passover meal I went to last night, I felt as though I had to share the beauty of the ceremony. There was an incredible reverence and an incredible story told - the one of the ancient Hebrews as they travailed and traversed the circumstances of life. Adonai rescued them and promised full redemption. 

On this Good Friday, I celebrate that the redemption came in the person of Jesus Christ and through His Life and Death motivated by His Profound Love. 

Ephesians 1:7

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace"

A Messianic Passover meal is one that celebrates the ancient Hebrew exodus from Egypt, but also recognizes the imminent foretelling in the story of the Messiah, the Coming Christ, the pure and spotless Lamb.

Our hosts - he grew up Jewish and is now a Messianic believer. His wife has a seminary degree and has been a discipleship leader for many years.

The telling of Passover story involves different contributions and participation by those present, all intended to recall and remember the events of the 10 Plagues in Israel over the ancient Hebrews. And, as a Messianic believer, we can then also understand the foreshadowing of the Messiah and Sacrificial Lamb.

God Himself, not a messenger achieved final redemption from sin and death.

Deuteronomy 6:4-12

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.  And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.  You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. “And when the Lord your God brings you into the land that he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you—with great and good cities that you did not build,  and houses full of all good things that you did not fill, and cisterns that you did not dig, and vineyards and olive trees that you did not plant—and when you eat and are full,  then take care lest you forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
