i have also set into a funny routine these past few days: sweatpants. i approach my closet and think: hmmm...which sweats should i wear today? is it warm enough for capris? can i get by without showering today? do i have a tshirt or sweatshirt to match? furthermore, i have not left home in almost three days. tallulah mae, my car who recently got an uninvited and botched face lift from a semi-truck, is in the shop getting fixed - the kind that should actually look good. so i am here. it's been a fabulous week of no running around, so far, but also a semblance of forced productivity and respite. i have been trying to manage my expectations of what i need to get done, so that i am carving space during this typhoon to rest, abide, seek, listen....
have you ever thought about the word triumphant? or the word prevailing? what about prosper or increase? i love words. and i cannot help but think about a few phrases from romans 8:
more than a conqueror? what does that mean? i have been asked this many times, and have recently been studying it through my classes @ Grace Ministries.
i listened to a message this morning that reminded me about the victory and triumph for those in Christ. we have victory already. we also have power and position with the King of the Universe...when we draw on this consistently and live out of this reality, we will be more than conquerors, because the enemy and his agents will not even bother showing up for the fight.
that is more than a conqueror. we prevail, with authority and position.
"31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." (vss. 31-33, 37)

am i the only one who is still searching to embrace this? i have experienced victory in many areas and know that i am living out of truth...but there are other corners where i am still getting un-stuck....still living without victory....still embracing the increase from my Savior...and probably still areas that i don't even know i am stuck....there will be triumph for me. i know it.
praise God he is faithful to guide me and shepherd me...he is so good and so patient with me. :)
