Exodus 25:8 (ESV)

“And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.”

SANC'TUARY, n. [L. sanctuarium, from sanctus, sacred.]

1. A sacred place; particularly among the Israelites, the most retired part of the temple at Jerusalem, called the Holy of Holies, in which was kept the ark of the covenant, and into which no person was permitted to enter except the high priest, and that only once a year to intercede for the people. The same name was given to the most sacred part of the tabernacle. Lev. 4. Heb. 9.

The Word Sanctuary comes from the same latin word as Saint (Sanctus meaning holy).  You are a saint (Ephesians 2:19).

God is in our midst…He is Immanuel (Isaiah 9:6) and it’s in his Nature to be ever-present in our lives.

In fact, YOU are the holy of holies now, you are a sanctuary and image bearer of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:49).

You are sacred and you are consecrated (Joshua 3:5, 1 Peter 2:9).

You are perfect in your Spirit (2 Peter 1:3), a tabernacle of the most High God.

You are not alone (Hebrews 13:5-6).

You can radically approach the throne of Grace (Hebrews 4:16).

That God would cry out a request for a dwelling among his children, and then because of Christ we are so KNOWN and are actually the holy of holies, the sacred vessels containing the living God...WOW...

Oh Yes, Lord Jesus come dwell in our midst. King of Glory, be among us for your renown. Friend, Teacher, and Abba we receive you.
