This past week, I had the privilege of worshipping God alongside of 45,000 incredible college-aged leaders, world-changers, listeners, and sojourners. Some of whom were our future and former Journey Interns. Words barely express the glee and joy in my heart to reunite with them, and listen with them, proclaim god alongside them, and join in worship with them.
We had the privilege of listening to many speakers share the word, worship amongst many others who were crying out their adoration to God.
We also had the privilege of raising awareness and money to fight the cause of modern-day human trafficking. 27 million men, women, and children are locked in slavery today. This is more than any other time in the history of the world. The 45,000 students raised over 2.4 million dollars in 4 days to arrest the chains of bondage and unleash the rescue. :) The causes were global and local to Atlanta. Check it:
Other things that remain with me (as affirmation, confirmation, or revelation...though, I am still processing the week):::
*How many people are locked into spiritual slavery- slavery to sin, slavery to darkness, slavery to flesh? Even those who are followers of Christ? What deliverance and healing is God beckoning?
*Themes I heard through our songs, our cheers, and the speakers: Healing, Freedom, and Surrender. Also, the word Unashamed sticks out. This matters to me, because I had just prayed over the conference (perhaps from personal heart strings) for healing to set in!

Scripture was used - magnified in the Person of Truth. Christ was edified. God was worshipped. People were set free. Community happened. Laughter occurred (even worship giggles). smiles were sent out. Chains were broken. Slaves will be set free into the slavery of righteousness....the only kind of conviction and slavery that is True.
